Friederike:

"One year in Mexico! During this year, I met incredibly great people, learned to love a country and also studied at one of the best (and most expensive) universities in Latin America. I grew during this year with challenges that I would not have had if I had stayed in Germany. Even though there were difficulties, I wouldn't want to miss a single moment from my exchange in Mexico."

Konrad:

"The stay is probably one of the best experiences of my life. Thanks to the ISAP program, I was able to travel to a country on another continent and met a lot of open and friendly people and made friendships for eternity. I was able to get to know the culture and the country extensively during this time and I would like to thank the IAM very much for making this possible."

The exchange program

Monterrey is the capital of the Mexican state Nuevo León and is often called la Ciudad des las Montanas (city of mountains). Next to a rich history and culture, Monterrey is well known for its high quality of life in Latin America (among other things, Monterrey has a flourishing beer production and outstanding steaks which are in no way inferior to those from Argentina). After the Mexican War of Independence, Monterrey grew to an important business center and is home of international companies and universities nowadays.

The Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) is one of the best Latin American universities and has a large network spanning several branches in Northamerica, Europe and Asia. As a private university with an outstanding reputation in the field of mechanical engineering and production, the ITESM offers the opportunity of industrial-oriented curriculum. The institute has thirty-one independent campuses all over Mexico sharing a national academic curriculum. The flagship campus is located in Monterrey, where the ITESM was founded in 1943 by industrialists. More than 200 laboratories, classrooms, as well as sports and entertainment facilities are located at this campus.

Each year, up to six students will be supported for two semesters. Within the framework of the exchange, courses equivalent to 30 ECTS per semester should be taken.

The presented slides can be downloaded using the following link (german).
Please review the updated description for the course selection at the partner university. Accommodations during the entire student exchange will be provided through a full service of ITESM upon arrival.
